Northumberland Tour

Due to popular demand our Northumberland tour returns in 2027. For this edition, we have four nights at the quintessential English Mansion of Doxford Hall Hotel and Spa. The tour then moves across to the luxury of the five-star Matfen Hall for two nights. Some wonderful roads link the hotels and the many visits we include or suggest along the way.

Itinerary
Sunday 27th June
Arrive at Doxford Hall Hotel & Spa in time for a stroll around the beautiful, landscaped grounds and incredible yew tree maze. In the evening, you will be welcomed by your tour manager, who will give you a briefing about the tour, followed by welcome drinks and dinner in the hotel’s award-winning restaurant.
Monday 28th June
Today we tackle the Alnwick Coastal run where you have the option to cross over to Holy Island, featuring the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory. There are a host of optional stops on this route. This evening, dinner is taken together at the hotel.
Tuesday 29th June
Today, we visit centuries-old Alnwick Castle and Gardens, where we have special parking for cars as well as a guided tour. There are suggested lunch stops in the town of Alnwick. This evening, dinner is taken together at the hotel.
Wednesday 30th June
Today is the Roxburgh Run via a honey farm for a coffee stop, followed by lunch at Roxburghe Castle. We then have a pleasant run along the Scottish borders.
Thursday 1st July
We check out this morning and make our way to historic Gothic mansion and luxury hotel, Matfen Hall Hotel. We regroup at a coffee stop with the aim of arriving at Matfen in good time to enjoy their facilities before dinner together that evening.
Friday 2nd July
Today is the ‘Rolling Hill’s’ run via Langley Castle for a coffee stop. There are multiple optional stops along this tour to suit your interests and to soak up the stunning scenery. This evening we have farewell drinks and dinner at the hotel.
Saturday 3rd July
After breakfast check out and continue your onward journey.
