Celebration Weekend

The tour group outside Brooklands Museum on a Celebration of Backwater Tour

Backwater Classic Car Tours is thrilled to have hosted a spectacular celebration weekend in honour of Paul and Linda Trill, as well as the esteemed members of the E and XK Type Jaguar clubs. After Paul and Lyn graciously handed over the reins to us at Albatross Motoring last year, it was an absolute pleasure to commemorate their contributions alongside fellow enthusiasts.

The event took place at the luxurious Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. Friday afternoon kicked off with a journey through automotive history at Mercedes Benz World, where attendees indulged in track laps or a thrilling 4x4 off-road adventure. As evening descended, we gathered for dinner at the hotel, where old friendships were reignited and cherished memories of past Backwater Classic Car Tours were shared.

Saturday morning saw us embark on a scenic tulip navigation through the picturesque Surrey countryside, soaking in the beauty of our surroundings. The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the celebratory dinner honouring Paul and Lyn Trill, as well as their remarkable contributions to the creation and growth of Backwater Classic Car Tours. We were honoured to welcome Philip and Julie Porter, owners of the E and XK Type Jaguar Club, for an evening filled with heartfelt tributes and cherished reminiscences.

On Sunday morning, a convoy of our esteemed members proudly showcased their exquisite E and XK Jaguars in front of the historic Brooklands Museum, immersing themselves in its rich automotive heritage. After a morning of exploration, we bid farewell with a delightful afternoon cream tea, leaving with hearts full of fond memories and promises of future adventures.
